Our History & Vision

​

The Schreckengost Future of Care Foundation was born out of a vision to revolutionize access to medical care by combining philanthropy with smart financial strategies. It all started with a simple, yet powerful belief: no one should be denied the care they need due to financial barriers. Seeing firsthand how many patients struggle to afford life-changing integrative treatments, we knew there had to be a better way—one that didn’t rely solely on short-term fundraising but rather a sustainable, long-term solution.

Members of the Schreckengost family—Eli, Caleb, and Lily—grew up in a private practice setting, as their parents, Dr. Homer and Kelly Schreckengost, operated a private clinic on an 82-acre farm in rural, underserved Pennsylvania for many years. Their goal was to blend affordable care with integrative and personalized medicine, ensuring that patients received the best possible treatment regardless of financial constraints.

Fast forward to 2023, when the Schreckengost family opened a new private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, called Schreckengost Integrative Medicine. Despite being in an affluent area, they quickly noticed a major need for accessibility in integrative and personalized healthcare. They saw many patients in need who couldn’t access or afford the treatments necessary to live a normal, healthy life—or, in even worse cases, the treatment they needed to survive.

This realization sparked a major idea in Eli, who just months after opening their practice and having the opportunity to serve as Director of Business, proposed the idea of starting a foundation to help individuals in these critical situations. While the family loved the idea and recognized the need, they weren’t yet in a position to launch it as they were still establishing their new practice.

“I would sit across from patients, as we handed them their treatment plans—everything they needed to heal and live a normal, healthy life. But instead of relief, I saw the look of helplessness on their faces. Time and time again, they would ask, ‘Would it still work if I just did part of the treatment?’ And of course, we worked with them however we could, but we had to be honest with them—the outcomes wouldn’t be the same. That was heartbreaking. Those were the moments I knew something had to change. We had to help.” — Eli Schreckengost

Fast forward to 2025, when a generous donor approached the family, asking if there was any way she could help expand their practice to serve more people and make a bigger impact on the community. Having witnessed firsthand the care and dedication at Schreckengost Integrative Medicine, she was eager to support their mission. Eli was thrilled to share the plans he had developed months before, knowing this moment would one day arrive.

Today, we are opening our doors and our hearts to the community, making a life-changing impact on the lives of underserved individuals across our community, state, and nation. All of this is possible through the love and will of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who has provided everything we've needed to make this possible—from donors and funds to dedicated board members, all of whom have willingly donated their time without compensation to bring this vision to life. We are honored to serve, and we are committed to ensuring that no one is left behind in their pursuit of health and healing.
